Standardisation protocol
The specific typing protocol used at Startbio includes specific primers and probes to identify the sequence of two SARS-COV-2 protein spikes involving the Delta mutation. Specifically, the proteins L452R and P681R. In addition, the combination of mutations N440K, G446S, S477N, T478K, N679K and P681H, which involve the Omicron mutation, can also be detected with this methodology. In addition, the previous strains of the British mutant (B.1.1.7 501Y.V1 and B.1.1.7) and the African mutant (501Y.V2) are detected in parallel.
The application of this protocol can accurately answer the question of which mutation we are affected by.
